Wise Woman Weekend Green Statement
Since inception the Wise Woman Weekend has been organised with holistic sustainable principles in mind. We are committed to practices that are mindful of the health of the natural world and believe that holistic living and personal well being are key elements of sustainability.
We hope that by embodying the principles of sustainability the Wise Woman Weekend can influence attendees, our goods and services providers and our host community to choose right relationship with the earth and its inhabitants.

What we do:

Source all our goods and services in the immediate community and support women run enterprises, where possible
- Use environmentally friendly products
- Programme sustainability themed workshops and activities
- Encourage car pooling on the Wise Woman Weekend website
- Support eco tourism accommodation providers
- Seek financially sustainable solutions to keep the cost of the weekend affordable

What you can do:
Accommodations:
- Support eco aware accommodation providers
- Turn off the lights when not in use
- Take short showers and turn off the water while washing
- Turn off the water when you brush your teeth
- Close the windows when the heat is on
- Turn off the heat when you leave your accommodations during the day
- Use the recycle bins for your waste
- Use eco friendly toiletry and cleaning products
Food
- Support local providers and organic producers where possible
- Choose food that is not over packaged
- Reduce your food waste and compost what food waste there is
- Try to avoid the use of plastics
Transportation
- Use public transportation and/or car pool
- The village of Dromahair is ideal for cycling so bring your bike if you can.
Many people suffer from multiply chemical sensitivities and we thank you for not using chemically based scents during the weekend.
